Volunteer at Marin Community Clinics!

Everyone benefits when neighbors help neighbors. We welcome volunteers from the medical profession and from the general community. Our volunteer opportunities are:

Medical specialists

Our clinics depend on many volunteer clinicians who generously give their time, free of charge, treating patients at our clinics in their area of specialty. If you are a physician or other health care professional and would like to volunteer at our clinics on a regular basis, contact our Human Resources Department at HR@marinclinics.org

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Front Office Assistant:
Help the front office staff make appointments, phone calls, follow-up appointments, copy, and file documents. Volunteers must be fluent in Spanish and English.

Assistant to Medical Records:
Lend a hand to the Medical Records Team and learn about medical charts. Tasks include pulling and filing patient paper charts.

Assistant to Referral Department:
Help the referral coordinators make appointments with specialists and maintain data. Volunteers must be fluent in Spanish and English.

Assistant to Quality Assurance & Improvement Department:
Volunteer in the QA/QI Department assisting with research and data entry. This is a terrific opportunity to learn about the business side of a medical clinic.

Interpreter:
Vietnamese or Farsi interpreters are needed to assist patients who speak those languages.

Read to children in the waiting room:
Volunteer as a story teller, reading to children in the waiting room. Going to the doctor can be an intimidating experience for a child. MCC welcomes enthusiastic bilingual (English & Spanish) volunteers to come and make it a more relaxed, calming, and fun experience for them.

Photographer:
MCC would welcome a professional photographer to help us update our staff and clinic photographs for brochures and newsletters.

Dental Pediatrics Project: (San Rafael or Novato)
The Dental Department would like to reach out to pediatric patients on the medical side and get them registered as patients in the Dental Clinic as well. The Pedi Project would do this by setting up a fun, whimsical, and educational booth in the Pediatric department where a volunteer could educate patients and families about the Dental Clinic and register them for dental care. This is a perfect project for a high school student, group of high school students, or a college student.

Dental Re-call Project:
A detail oriented and persistent bilingual (English & Spanish) speaking volunteer with lots of patience is needed to call Dental patients that have missed their appointment and reschedule them. This is a great way to help Marin Community Clinics as well as the wonderful patients we serve.

Dental Assistant Support:
Volunteers interested in exploring dentistry have the opportunity to work in the Dental Clinic in either San Rafael or Novato aiding the Dental Assistants with tasks such as sterilization of instruments, assembly of goody bags, and filing.
